A security operations center (SOC) is the heart of an organization security function, from where the responsible personnel supervises the overall security process and responds to alerts.
An information security operations center (ISOC) is usually dedicated to the security of enterprise information systems, such as web portals, networks, users, desktops, databases, CRM/ERP/GIS applications, etc.
A typical ISOC requires a lot of visualization to present dashboards, summary pages of special tools, location maps, etc. Some security officers working at their stations keep common information on a video wall and several information screens surrounding them. Some sources are web-based dashboards, while others are workstation desktops and applications.
