The games were monitored via several operations centers that kept track of the tournaments and monitored security. The operations process required the display of numerous video feeds on various screens. The video feeds came from different sources, such as IPTV streaming of sports competitions, CCTV feeds to monitor safety and some operational videos for internal purposes. These video streams were displayed in the Main Operation Center (MOC) and TELCO Operation Center on 4 Videowalls, 2 Video Projectors and 5 49” TV’s. The key task of the project was to minimize the response time of both operational centers. All the content had to be managed centrally. The system had to work 24/7 and be easily administered. As the installation was temporary for the period of the games, it was important for the customer to use minimal cabling.
PROYECTO ESPECIAL PARA LA PREPARACIÓN Y DESARROLLO DE LOS XVIII JUEGOS PANAMERICANOS DEL 2019
The Main Operations Center featured two 3X3 videowalls assembled from 55” Samsung displays and one 3X2 videowall assembled from a 55” LG display. The room also included one HITACHI and one EPSON projector, as well as a 49” Advance TV and a PC with a Polywall server installed on it.
TELCO operations center included one 3X2 videowall assembled from 49” LG displays, as well as four 49” Advance TVs and a PC with Polywall Visualizer.
Polywall helped manage content on all display devices (videowalls, projectors and TV’s) according to the requirements of each operations center. Deployment of Polywall in this project facilitated management of content and makes the solution versatile. Another important factor was the availability of customer support.
